October Meet In Honor of Our Soldiers Print E-mail

Draco Performance to host an Enthusiast Meet IN HONOR OF OUR SOLDIERS who have served and who are still serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

 The meet will be held at our shop located at 18605 Northline Drive in Cornelius on Saturday, Oct. 27th from 9am-until.  After meeting several soldiers over a North Carolina Subaru Forum, Flat4NC.com, and realizing that some communicating were still in Iraq awaiting their return home, we decided that it’s our turn to give back to these men and women who have sacrificed so much in order to preserve our every day ways of life and day to day living without fear.  Many of these soldiers already attend as many Subie and other enthusiast meets as they can unnoticed by the organizations to which they are supporting, so this meet is for them.  In addition to Draco Performance, a local food vendor in Cornelius, Matt’s Chicago Dog, without hesitation, have agreed to sponsor the event along with us by donating burgers and dogs for 50, including the soldiers in attendance.  So food will be on a first come first serve basis unless you register. Thanks also to the Village Tavern, a fantastic restaurant with several NC locations including Charlotte, Greensboro and Winston Salem who have provided very generous gift certificates, without hesitation to give to all our soldiers who will be attending the event!  Visit their website at www.VillageTavern.com.

We are working on more excitement for the day to give thanks and will update as things are confirmed, but these are the things that we know for now. Events will include a designated dyno time for the soldiers to dyno their cars with a limited availability for others to dyno at a reduced priced TBD.

 

 
Press Release-AWD/2WD Chasis Dyno Coming to Draco! Print E-mail

Barry and Leslyn Bodine, owners of Draco Performance, are excited to announce that shipment for their All Wheel Drive Chassis Dyno has been set for July 5th, 2007.  Besides being an all wheel dyno, it will have the disconnect for 2WD autos, motorcycles and 4 wheelers;  And to keep our local drag racers and bracket racers competitive in the off season, Draco Performance will also have the Christmas Tree and applicable software for ¼ mile simulations and showdowns!

The news does not just stop their though, Draco Performance will also have their Cobb Protuning software to appeal to our Subaru enthusiasts, SCT tuning software and in car programmers for our Mustangs as well as a few other select tuning software for imports and domestics.

Barry Bodine will be attending the 2007 Hyper Fest at Summit Point, WV.  The event takes place from June 22-June 24th.  Hyper Fest is one of the larger outdoor car shows/trade shows in the US, 2nd to NOPI Nationals.  Barry will be attending as a vendor with our high performance business, Draco Performance, as well as entering our 2 cars, a 2004 Subaru STi and 1996 Mustang Saleen Convertible in the car show.  It is the first Trade Event for Draco Performance as an attending vendor and we are very excited.  Please visit www.Draco-Performance.com for updated information along with pictures of the event as it happens.
 
A special thanks to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte car club, Horsepower Addicts, for jumping in without fear in preparation of this event.  Draco Performance supports the UNCC Horsepower Addicts car club by exposing these young performance enthusiasts to parts of the performance industry they would otherwise not have access to including trade shows, NASCAR events, hands on experience and an overall look at the industry and its every day functions from the business perspective.
 
Attending the show with us will be Ashley Ross, the 2007/2008 UNCC HPA President who was a former Jr. Dragster of 3 years and currently drag races her own self built 1999 Pontiac Transam, turning 12.191 in the quarter mile and pushing 290 Horsepower to the wheel . Thanks Guys.

News: Grass Roots Motorsports Print E-mail

Draco Performance is excited to announce that their invitation to the Grass Roots Motorsports Ultimate Track Car Challenge has been finalized.  Thanks to all the support to everyone for voting on cardomain.com.  The invitation only event will take place on Friday, July 29th at Virginia International Raceway.  Barry will be entering his 2004 Subaru STi in the challenge.
